July Club Meeting

Last updated on December 6, 2021

July’s meeting will be held via Zoom only

Due to the scheduling difficulties with Board Members, the July Meeting will be strictly a zoom event.
There will be plenty to discuss so we hope to see everyone on the chat at 730 pm.

Upcoming Public Service Events

Wheaton 4th of July Parade

Thank you to everyone who helped with the 4th of July Parade.

Lombard Lilac Parade Sept 19

At this time, they are looking to move forward with their Lilac Parade (although, not when lilacs are normally in bloom). If you remember all the way back in the summer of 2019, we had found out that they no longer had a club that was able to support their event, and we reached out to them. We are looking for minimum of 9 operators (13 would cover all requested positions) to assist with the parade. It would be a longer day, but a nice breakfast is provided before hand and many of the positions would be ridding along in a golf cart with a parade marshal.

  • Breakfast (not required): 8:00 at Rock Bottom in Lombard (FREE FOOD!!)
  • Meetup with Marshals: 11:00 at Glenbard East High School (if you want to skip breakfast, this is the time to report)
  • Parade steps off at 1:30
  • The marshals will follow the parade out before heading back to parking
  • We have been given permission to end the parade with our trailer (still operating), so we get some free publicity out of the event

Much of the staging will run similar to the Wheaton Parade, although much more spread out (staging foot print is approximately 6 blocks by 8 blocks to furthest points). Normally, they have 120-150 entries. Start and Reviewing will run very similar to Wheaton, as well.

If you are interested in assisting, please email Mike at n0mo@n0mo.info and I will add you to my list. Please let mike know if you require a sitting position, and let Mike know if you need to borrow a handheld radio.
