Welcome Doug Totel/W9NJM to the RAB replacing Bill/KD9AUP. Thanks Bill for your years of excellent service.

Plans are in the works to replace the existing 39 antenna with a more efficient antenna.

Club Auction Coming in November

Don't forget the club's annual auction happening at the November meeting. Drag those boat anchors and whatever else you wish to part with to the meeting for auction disposal. The auction is open to all.

You must use this item tag sheet (PDF) to identify your items for the auction. Please have your tagged items at the auction table no later than 19:15L so that we can organize everything and still have time for a proper business meeting.

145.39 Repeater Update

The 39 machine has been moved and installed at its new home in Downers Grove at Highland and 31st St. In adherence to the Illinois Repeater Association's Selective Access Guidelines, the PL on this repeater has been changed to 107.2.

The antenna is about 880 feet above sea level. Power output at the antenna is about 13 watts. Mode selection is Auto In/Auto Out. Please realize that adjustments will need to be made to tune the system. Contact the RAB with any questions, comments or suggestions you may have.

WCRA would like to thank Bill/KD9AUP for his hard work in assembling the cabinet and corresponding hardware and electronics. Along with Bill, thanks to Ken/N9HQ, Tim/KC9YFI, Mike/N0MO, and Dale/NJ9E for installing the equipment at the new location and Mark/N9VDQ for securing the site.

Public Service Opportunity

WCRA has an opportunity to help support the 5K PANDAS Dash at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park on Sunday, September 25th. The time is yet to be determined. They need eight or more volunteers to help with the water station, start/finish area, race organizers, and a bicycle mobile to follow the race marshal.

Email Mike Wilson at hamradion0mo@gmail.com if you are interested.

ARRL Field Day Was Glorious

Thanks to all that came out and volunteered their time and energy. Results will be posted as soon as they are compiled.

March Meeting -- Where Are Your Dues?

The March membership meeting is when we have to cough up the annual dues. If you have not already taken care of this then have your dues ready.

Our program is provided by Debby, WX9VOR, who will be giving us a virtual tour of the National Weather Service's ham radio station.
